What is with the overnight closures of restaurants in Sacramento lately? There seems to be a trend of restaurants closing up shop overnight - Blackbird, The Broiler and McCormick & Schmick's most recently come to mind.
Not to mention that it seems like it's now the "in" thing to inform staffs of their layoffs via an email blast...is it just me or does that seem like a pretty heartless practice?
It does seem awfully cold. I feel so bad for the employees that showed up, ready to work and in need of a paycheck, and were informed that they no longer had a job by a sign on the door. Ugh.
That is cold. but I understand McCormick Schmicks is becoming a ClaimJumper. Both restaurants are owned by Landry. So hopefully many of the servers will be able to stay on in the new restaurant and won't lose their jobs.
